The Big Read at the Thomas Ford Memorial Library in Western Springs

Beginning February 1st the popular reading event will begin with The Shoemaker's Wife written by Adriana Trigiani. About two star-crossed lovers whose journeys take them from the mountains of Italy to America. This is more than a love story. It captures the immigrant experience of the early 1900s. The Big Read is a cooperative project with the Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Indian Prairie, LaGrange, LaGrange Pk, Lisle, Westmont and Woodridge public libraries. It seeks to connect our communities through literature. A complete program guide will be available at the Reference Desk. Located at the corner of Chestnut and Wolf Road just two blocks north of the train.
