Highlands Middle School Honored

The Highlands Middle School was honored with the "Apple Exemplary Program" recogniton for 2009-2010. Highlands Middle School is among only 38 educational technology programs nationwide to achieve this new recognition from the computer company. Apple representatives will make a formal presentation to Highlands' administrators at a future 106 Board Meeting. The La Grange Highlands School is attended by students from Springdale, Ridgewood and Timber Trails in Western Springs. Congratulations to the staff members who have spent hours upon hours engaged in professional development and planning in order to align their lessons with best practices for the 21st century....is it too late for me to go to middle school???

Western Springs Easter Egg Hunt

March 27th 2010 from 9:00am to 9:30am, rain or shine, the Western Springs Business Association will be having an Easter Egg Hunt at the Tower Green.

This is how it works:

There will be different egg hunts based on ages. Plastic eggs will be hidden and filled with candy and prizes.

Western Springs is 125 years old in 2011

Next year Western Springs will turn 125 years old and The Village plans to have a massive celebration.

They are currently assembling a committee to plan the birthday party. These are the type of events that really give a town its character so if you have the time and the talent to commit to making this a great event, I suggest you contact the Village and get on this committee.

Imagine if Martha Stewart lived in Western Springs and was on this committee. Do you think we'd have a great birthday party? We would. Is Martha Stewart better at this than you? Probably. But I bet there are a few event planning ringers somewhere in Western Springs and you're the people The Village needs.
